Using Fast Estimate with Data from Previous Versions
Fast Estimate is fully backward compatible and can work with all previous version data, with the following provisos:
- Profit values may change slightly on V5 schedules because it is calculated in a different way (on resources rather than items)
- Schedules now have the option of Type, Status and Stage. These will have to applied as required
- Letter of Offer is no longer a supported feature
To import V5 data proceed as follows:
- Take a full V5 data backup (make a note of its location)
- From V6, Select File / Utilities / Backup/Restore and select the Restore tab
- Select the V5 backup file
Your V5 data will be automatically converted
