Schedule Properties

Adding data in this form is optional, you can create a Schedule and price your work without entering details if you wish. However you probably find it useful to add at least some useful detail

Key Features

  • Use this form to enter key information about the currently selected Schedule
  • Set the schedule attributes so you know exactly where this schedule is in the pricing process

General

You can enter useful tendering information which may be of value later for reviewing, comparing and filtering

Dates

Enter key dates for this Schedule

Stage

This indicates the current stage of this Schedule in the tendering process.
Active: Currently being worked on or awaiting a response
Dormant: This schedule is not currently being worked on nor is it awaiting client feedback
A schedule Stage 'View' shows the stage of each schedule in the table and may be sorted for viewing

Result

Pending - Has been submitted and is awaiting response from client
Won - Successful submission
Lost - Unsuccessful submission

Status

A Schedule can be:
Current (only appears in the Current table)
Archived
Template

Type

You can maintain up to 20 user-definable schedule Types. Schedules can be filtered by Type in the main table so this can be a very useful setting

Show Original Item ID

Toggles the Original ID column on the bill page.
Generally used for schedules imported from Excel to help make sure that the item you are pricing matches the original ID in the supplied bill.

Item ID

If you prefer to use numbers rather than letters to identify items (or your clients do), select Numeric. In both cases Fast Estimate will adjust the ID when automatic or manual pages are added.

Area (m2)

Set the building area for this schedule

Client, Site, Architect, Surveyor

Similar forms showing contact details for key people in the Schedule. For easy contact email addresses are 'hot linked' to your default email editor - double-click to launch.

Notes

Add any notes you want to add regarding this Schedule. These are not used anywhere else but can be used as the basis of a schedule search on key words

Overhead/Profit%

You can set up Overhead & Profit% for each Resource Type (Material, labour etc.) to be applied to each NEW bill item created in this Schedule (If you want to apply retrospectively, use the Schedule Profit table).

Fonts

You can apply different font characteristics to item Descriptions at different levels in order to improve your bill page layout. Descriptions can be from 8 to 18 point size, the remaining columns can be set from 8-10 point. You can also apply a range of colours to each level (e.g. Red for level 1 items, blue for level 2)

Notes

  • You can print the Schedule Details for attachment to the main Bill Pages.
  • Take care when mixing item Description font settings and Report Font Size - the results can look odd if badly matched.
  • Experiment with the different options to find the style that suits you best.If you want to apply font styles to library items, use the System Settings option

Tips

  1. Use the Status information if you want to keep track of job submissions and your success rate. These appear on Schedule tables.
  2. The Item ID option can be changed to suite your own bill layout style, or to change your style to reflect a scanned Schedule that may use a different convention.
  3. Use the Font settings to make your bill pages stand out.
